Snail-pace life??

Chinese New Year... Is a time of visiting relatives and getting red packets, we called "ang pao"...eating a lot of cookies and "kuih"...

Also, festive season always make me in holiday mood, and I somehow move slower in many things, like a snail. Many members are not around, and Wangsa Maju is kind of quiet and "peaceful".

Yesterday, I went to my aunt's house at Kepong to have CNY gathering with all my relatives. It has been long time I didn't have CNY gathering with them as I was always at Sibu, Sarawak during CNY. Seeing all the aunts and uncles are getting older, and all my cousins having children that are growing taller and taller, I started to think about L-I-F-E. Living with Insight Filled with Eternity....

We, human, go through the same cycle of life! Baby > Toddler > Child > Teenager > Adult > Parent > Grandparent > Leave the world...

And our lives are bound with pressure and challenge, whether we like it or not, we have to face them. Expectation of people, demands from the world, responsibility to not to hurt people....the list can go on...and on...

And suddenly, I am DETERMINED to not to be snail. As long as I live on earth, I want to do something meaningful and purposeful for the people around me. Although I will make mistake, I ask God to continuously give me a teachable heart to learn and to improve.

"Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.. Galatians 6:9"

Therefore, we must not lose heart in this L-I-F-E... Spend time to build our inside rather than our outside, then helping people to build their inside too!

Some quotes of truth by Zig Ziglar

"Life is too short to spend your precious time trying to convince a person who wants to live in gloom and doom otherwise. Give lifting that person your best shot, but don't hang around long enough for his or her bad attitude to pull you down. Instead, surround yourself with optimistic people."

"Far too many people have no idea of what they can do because all they have been told is what they can’t do. They don’t know what they want because they don’t know what’s available to them."

"It's not what you've got, it's what you use that makes a difference."

"Where you start is not as important as where you finish."

Find & enjoy your true life, that meant by God, not the expectation of the world. =) GBU

Nowadays, when we hear about abortion, premarital sex, husband and wife quarelling, children rebels against parents, gangster fight and etc etc that fall into the same category, it seems like they ain't hurting us as much as last time when we heard it.

Perhaps they happen too often until we have no feeling towards them anymore. Or is it we become more and more into the pattern of the world?

Do you notice that all the above negative events that I mentioned are to do with RELATIONSHIP...?

Who is the main source of relationship? God is. He created us to relate with Him and then created man and woman for them to relate with each other lovingly.

Who is the destroyer of relationship? Satan is. He steals from God the wonderful meaning of relationship, he changea the program and lock it with his password LUSTGREEDPRIDE, and teaches us to use the PASSWORD to serve his program.

Today in the society, we see young people enter into boy girl relationship as young as Primary 3. When I heard about that, I feel so outdated! Coz during my time, any of my friends that started 'paktor' during Form 5 was already a hoo-haa thing. Now, if young kids starting relationship at the age of 9 is a normal thing, what about a young couple that have sex at the age of 15? 16?

Some will say, "Pastor, chew-know, is like this one.. now is very normal already..."

Yes, we are living in a very imperfect world. And we are living with our sinful nature. We see all the unhappy marriage, unhappy couple, unhappy friends..... and we also experience it by ourselves. But we are not going to stop there.

I would say that everyone can start to change our password to LOVEFAITHHOPE to reprogram our mind, renew our mind. LOVE the Lord, have FAITH in Him, and find HOPE again in the new life God has given us. Forgive and forget the pass, and start to dig into the Word to learn what God says about relationship.

God loves human and human ought to love God.
Husband loves and be faithful to wife and vice versa.
Children loves parents and vice versa.
Human loves human and vice versa.
Faith, hope and love, the greatest is LOVE, which God has gave it all for us.

Reading the whole book of Ephesians is an eye-opening. You may try, and share with me in "Comments" what you get after medidating the book of Ephesians.

Jesus is Lord in relationship!

Fishing...

Do you like fishing? I always wish I will have chance to fish, yet I wonder whether I will have the patience to do it. On 7th January, when we were at Malacca for staff holiday, we stopped by a Portugis Settlement nearby the seaside to dine. It is a beautiful side. Looking at some of the boats, I remembered the story of Jesus in the Bible where He called four fishermen to be His disciples. "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." [see Matthew 4:19]

These fishermen caught nothing before that, but at the words of Jesus, they let down their nets, and they had a miraculous great catch. It was a great number of fishes that the boat was about to sink! [see Luke 5:1-10]

I was reminded that all of us are fishermen too (for lady is called fisherwomen :D). I am glad that though I am not sure when can I go fishing, but I very sure that everyday I can follow Jesus to be fisherwoman, to be fishers of men. To experience the love of Jesus and the new life He gave me, and then be able to 'catch' many more others to experience the same love and new life. At the seaside, I released a prayer to God, "Lord, make all of us fishers of men."

When I reached my home at Wangsa Maju around evening time on the 8th January, I saw my members were preparing for visitation later in the night. I rejoice within me with my thoughts ringing... "Emm, Lord, your wonderful children are becoming fishers of men later, spreading your love and your gospel. Great!"

Conclusion: To be fishers of men is the greatest and is worthwhile even if I don't have chance to go fishing for the entire of my life =)
